Mrs. Turner and has been teaching at Our Lady of Mount Carmel since 2004.
While in college, she worked in the preschool setting and at summer camp. She attended Rhode Island College and graduated cum laude with a degree in Elementary Education. She completed graduate classes at Roger Williams University.
Mrs. Turner chose to become a teacher because she believes educating young people is one of the most important challenges in the world. Teaching new concepts and watching young peoples’ face light up when they truly understand it is rewarding, she has said. Mrs. Turner loves teaching at OLMC because it is a tight-knit community. The students, parents, teachers, and administrators know one another and work together to improve the school.
Through participating in NEASC committees, she has learned how schools improve through self-reflection and outside assessment. Mrs. Turner worked on the last NEASC self-study and accreditation process at OLMC. She also served on visiting accreditation committees for NEASC.
Mrs. Turner went to OLMC when she was a child and met her husband there. Her mother-in-law was a member of the first graduating class at OLMC. She loves the beach, Pilates, and reading. She lives in Barrington with her husband, Bill, and her dog Nate.
"Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school."
